I've just checked, and the package is building fine with the latest versions of ffmpeg-git and libplacebo-git, as long as you apply the fix to libplacebo-git PKGBUILD. What's new in mpv 0.36.0: mpv is a lightweight media player based on mplayer2, a project that itself is based on the original MPlayer. ![]() AUR helpers are not supported, please use makepkg. My bet is that the issue you're facing is due the AUR helper, which tries to automatically build everything. You can apply my suggested fix to libplacebo-git PKGBUILD, or also manually specify a slightly older upstream git commit libplacebo-git PKGBUILD. What you could be facing is a build issue with. As I said, the package is currently building fine. mpv 0.36.0 requires libplacebo > 6.278.0, regardless of the library soname, being it 315 or the current one in libplacebo git masster (318). In the libplacebo-git AUR web page, I've posted a fix that can be manually applied to the PKGBUILD before the packager update, for those wanting to build it now.
